A House United: Book Discussion Elim is hosting a book discussion, facilitated by Pastor Dan Doerrer, on Wednesday evenings in November from 6:30pm-7:30pm each week.  The book is available at FortressPress.com  or other online booksellers.  Contact Pastor Dan Doerrer to participate at ddoerrer@elim-robbinsdale.org
or 612-695-8453.  Rather than asking people to leave their political and theological beliefs at the church door, Author Allen Hilton promotes a Christianity that brings people together with their differences. Through God’s transforming work, he writes, we can create a house united that will help our nation come back together.
YOUTH & FAMILY Final Preparation for Confirmation  for Students in 9 grade or older Interested in being a part of Elim’s 2018 Confirmation Class?  We require participation in a four-week class on the core principles of Lutheran Theology.  Classes run from 6:00pm to 7:30pm on Wednesdays, October 3, 10, 17, & 24.  Students completing this class may celebrate the Affirmation of Baptism at Elim’s Confirmation Service on Sunday, October 28 at the 9:15am service.  Contact Pastor Dan Doerrer with questions or to register: ddoerrer@elim-robbinsdale.org. Child Care:  Families with small children have advised our staff on how we might best accommodate them during worship.  Elim Lutheran Church has discontinued our drop-off nursery ministry during worship services due to lack of demand.  We will continue to provide child care ministry for special events based on interest and demand.  We will continue to offer “Busy Bags” on the wooden racks with coloring pages and small toys.  Also, we are adding “Toy Tubs” to our worship space and commons.  A wooden rack with Busy Bags will be positioned next to a Toy Tub in the first bench of the front section and the first bench of the back section.  We will also have a “Kid Zone” in the commons area for kids interested in louder play.  We value families worshiping together and strive to be inclusive of all ages.
