Finding God is Like Finding Dory: A “Kid’s Rock” Wednesday Night Series

For the season of Lent, we will be exploring how God shows up in the movie
Finding Dory. This four-week series will dig deeper into discovering where
God is in our everyday lives using the story of Dory & Nemo. Each Wednesday, Leah McDougall will show a clip of the movie, read a Bible story, and lead a discussion with activities. Invite friends to join! No Registration Necessary. For more information call Pastor Dan Doerrer at 612-695-8453.
Lock and Key Escape: An Elim Youth Event | Wednesday, March 7 | 6pm to 8:30pm
Pre-registration Required.  Cost is $20.00. Complimentary for those registered for Elim’s Confirmation or participant in Elim’s High School Bible Study. 
Details: You and your friends are put into an escape room, with one mission: get out! Communion Class | Sunday, March 4 | 9:30-10:30am | Reception Room
At Elim, children can learn about the sacrament of communion by attending this class before or after they have started receiving communion.  The Communion Class is planned for children age six or older and is held Sunday, March 4 from 9:30am to 10:30am in the Reception Room.  A parent or adult family member must attend with their child, and additional family members can attend too. Children attending the Communion Class will be recognized and celebrated on Thursday, March 29 during the Maundy Thursday 7pm service. Easter Memorial Garden: Flowers used to create a beautiful garden in the Sanctuary are purchased with donations given in memory of or in honor of loved ones.  If you would like to be part of the tradition at Elim please sign up by March 25, envelopes will be available in the pew racks during the month of March.  The average cost of a plant is $15). Make checks payable to Elim Lutheran Church.
Easter Egg Hunt Donations are needed to fill the Easter eggs! Please bring by the office trinkets and candy that can fit inside plastic eggs by March 26.  Thank you! 

2018 Empty Bowls Event | Tuesday, March 6 | 4-7pm | Robbinsdale Cooper High School
A Community meal and fundraiser to benefit PRSIM & NEAR Food Shelves through a collaborative effort of volunteers, local businesses, and Robbinsdale Area Schools/Community Education.  For information about the event, help with sponsorship, donations or volunteering, call 763-504-6990 or go to www.emptybowlsrobbinsdale.org.
2018 Minnesota Food Share—March Campaign
Elim will stock the food shelf for NEAR the month of March.  Grocery bags will be available March 4 & 11 at the sanctuary entrances with a list of needed items.  Please bring filled bags to our little red wagons all throughout March.  Money donations are also accepted (checks made out to NEAR).  The drive for food and funds continue all year long, but we ask for a you to help us with the March Campaign, too.  (Continue to bring paper bags to the little red wagons).
Donate Easter Baskets (new or gently used, clean and in good condition) so they can be filled for the younger children of NEAR clients.  Drop them at a little red wagon at the church entrance or office by March 25. Thank you! 

Songs of Hope & Freedom | TODAY-Sunday, Feb. 25 | 4-6pm | Armstrong High School
Join Robbinsdale Area Schools choirs and members of the faith community for an afternoon exploring and performing a variety of spirituals.  This first-time, unique community sing event brings together our schools and the community in a very meaningful way.  Tickets at rdale.ce.eleyo.com for $7 advanced purchase, or $10 at the door.  Concert proceeds benefit Empty Bowls.

The Elim Foundation reports that, since the first of the year, contributions in excess of $4,200 have been received.  These funds from memorials and general gifts are invested and shared for support of future ministry programs here at Elim and in the community.  Thank you to all for your generosity! The Foundation will continue to provide updates on contributions throughout the year.

    · Prayer for Healing in Our Broken World: A meditative time of prayer led by the Elim pastors with reflection on themes like fear, anxiety, dejection, and despair. A time to hear God’s word with messages of courage, confidence, reconciliation and hope.
