Legacy Giving & Giving Strategically Workshop | Sunday, November 10 | 10:30am | Choir Room
Two friends of Elim Lutheran Church will be available between services this Sunday from 10:15am to 11:15am downstairs in the Choir Room to teach us about Legacy Giving and Asset Management Strategies. They will answer questions and will offer insights to help us maximize our giving in light of last year’s tax law changes. Our two presenters are: Thrivent Representatives Bruce Ensrud and Vicki Elliott. Bruce advises the Elim Foundation Board and Vicki provides administrative coaching to staff members Pastor Dan and Jennifer Huehns.

WORSHIP/MUSIC/ARTS Elim Youth Handbell Choir:  Youth from 4th grade up are invited to be a part of the Elim Youth Handbell choir.  Practice is at 11am Sundays with the first performance Sunday 12/15/19 at the Children’s Christmas program.  Contact: Mary Mennenga, 763-287-9417.

Elim’s Thanksgiving Worship | Sunday, November 24 | 4:00pm | Sanctuary
Please join us for beautiful music and worship at the Thanksgiving worship service. A potluck will be held following the worship service in the Parlor at 5:00pm.
Figgy Pudding Bell Ring | December 7 | 10:00am | Parlor
On June 26 -28, 2020 the Elim Ringtones will go to Duluth, MN for the Area VII convention of Hand Bell Ringers of America. To help finance our trip we invite you to our Figgy Pudding Bell Ring on Saturday, December 7 at 10:00am.  We will play a concert of Christmas music and serve delicious brunch treats!  The Ringtones will perform a variety of Christmas music that you will enjoy. There will be a freewill offering, no tickets required.

ElimKidsGo! Christmas Party for Families with Children | Sat., Dec. 14 | 11:30am-1:30pm
Our elementary school kids and their families are invited to a Christmas Party in the lower level of church (Parlor) with games, cookie decorating and a craft. Both healthy snacks and sweet treats will be served. Parents-Your Choice! Join in on the fun or drop off your kids for a few hours while you get shopping done! Children’s Christmas Program | Sunday, December 15 | 9:15am
We invite your children (ages 3 to 5th grade) to be part of Elim’s Christmas Program this year on December 15 during our 9:15am worship service!  It is important for the children to attend as many Sunday School classes as possible leading up to the program so we are well prepared.
Important: Christmas Program Final Rehearsal is Saturday, December 14 from 9:30-11:30am in the Sanctuary.  A family party will follow! (No Sunday School Dec. 22, 29 & Jan. 5. Resumes Jan. 12)

SERVICE & MISSION Holiday Meals for NEAR: In November and December, we will distribute grocery bags to collect food for the NEAR food shelf to provide Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday meals. Grocery bags will be distributed after church on Sunday, November 3 and November 10, and December 1 and December 8. Food donations may be left in the red wagon any time on Sundays or during the week. Items needed are listed on the bags. Financial donations are also welcome; financial donations can be made using our offering envelopes or at our online giving at www.elim-robbinsdale.org/giving to the NEAR fund. Help Wanted: Kitchen help for a refreshment table at the Dec. 8th Elim Foundation-sponsored “Christmas in Robbinsdale: Peace and Joy” event.  Concert is at 4pm, refreshments will be served after 5pm, in the Parlor.  Please talk to Shirley Kramer if you can help, 763-588-5739.

Girl Scout Craft Show | Saturday, November 16th | 10am-3pm | Gym
Robbinsdale area Girl Scout Troop 18180 is hosting a craft sale here at Elim. There will be multiple Girl Scout troops participating and selling hand made crafts, all made by local girl scouts. Crafts include cookie mixes in a jar, soup mix in a jar, scrunchies, jewelry, paper cards/crafts, dog toys, mittens, beauty products and many more.  There will also be snacks and refreshments available for sale. All proceeds benefit participating local Girl Scout troops.  Please come and shop and help support our Girl Scouts. Veteran’s Luncheon | Monday, November 18 | 11am | Parlor
Guest Speaker, David Jones will share a historical presentation on Apollo: Why We Went to the Moon— a non-technical look at mankind’s greatest technological achievement.  Luncheon follows presentation for $5 each. Elim Turkey Shoot | Tuesday, November 19 (corrected date) | 6:00pm
$7 adults (age 12 and older), $4 children ages 7-12, kids under age 6 are free. Dinner is served at 6pm with games to follow. Fun for the entire family! Win a turkey!!
Christmas Cookies & Card Making | Saturday, November 23 | 9am-3pm
Come and share in the fun and fellowship on Saturday, November 23 when the Homebound Visitation Team will be hosting the Christmas cookie bake and cardmaking activity. It will take place form 9am to 3pm in the gym. All supplies are provided! Bring a bag lunch; coffee and dessert are also provided. Confirmation students are welcome to come with an adult. Surviving the Holidays: Help and hope as you navigate the Christmas season | Sunday, Nov. 24 | 10:30-11:45am | Fireside Room
Led by Pastor Marcia Rosa, this seminar is especially for people who are grieving a loved one’s death. All are welcome. Pre-register by Nov. 20 only if you want a copy of the GriefShare Holiday Survival Guide (not required), $5 each.
ASPIRE Women’s Christmas Event | Saturday, December 7 | 6:00-9:00pm Located at Calvary Lutheran Church, 7520 Golden Valley Rd, Golden Valley. Aspire is a 1 night, 3-hour Christmas event just for women full of laughter, learning, stories and music with national speakers, authors, comedians, and worship. Year-End Giving
Deadline for Giving in 2019: According to IRS guidelines, 2019 contributions sent to Elim by mail must be postmarked on or before December 31, 2019.  Contributions may also be physically brought to the office by noon on December 30, 2019 (offices closed December 24-27 and Dec. 31). Contributions received or postmarked after that date will apply to your 2020 tax returns.
