Alpha is a space to explore life’s big questions, to say what you think and to hear other people’s points of view. Elim will hold Alpha sessions on Wednesdays this fall through December 4 at 6:00pm (following dinner hour).  Everyone is welcome! Register online at www.elim-robbinsdale.org/adult-enrichment or call the church office.

AROUND THE CHURCH
Women’s Bazaar:  Between now and October, donations of homemade craft items are needed.  The Women of Elim are looking for new and fresh ideas of items to sell at the annual bazaar that takes place in October this year…but it’s not too early to be thinking about this year’s sale!  Bring items to the office and please include your name, phone number, and the cost of materials.  Please contact Darlene Knealing at 763-535-3613 for more information or questions.

Intentional Listening and Building Relationships to Hear God’s Call
Elim Lutheran Church is embarking on an exciting initiative with seven neighboring ELCA churches.  We have partnered with the Twin Cities Social Cohesion Initiative (SCI) to introduce a model of community organizing into our work as faith communities. What is community organizing? It is a way to be church together that involves intentional listening and developing a practice of relationship with one another and with other residents and institutions in our neighborhoods. Learn more about this initiative and find out how you can participate during and after services next Sunday, July 28.

SERVICE & MISSION
Beacon’s Families Moving Forward Diaper Donation Drive: Elim is one of many congregations helping Beacon’s Families Moving Forward program provide temporary shelter for more than 50 families as they move out of homelessness. Many of these families enter the program without critical hygiene items.  Elim has agreed to participate in this drive and collect 100 packs of each: disposable diapers & training pants (all sizes) and baby wipes.  The need is urgent, so if you can bring these items to Elim in the next few weeks it will be greatly appreciated.  Money donations will also be accepted.  Please write checks to Elim Lutheran Church and write in the memo FMF Donation Drive.  Bring the items to the office or drop in the box provided at the entrance of the Sanctuary.

School Supply Drive: Help get NEAR & Lakeview students ready for school in September. Bring by your donations through this month and next month.  Drop them in the red wagons or at the church office. Supplies will be bagged and distributed in late August. Pick up a supply list at office. LARGEST NEED! 2-pocket folders (red, yellow, green, blue).

PRISM Produce Distribution: PRISM facilitates free produce distributions during the summer and early fall months at an easily accessible location to increase access to healthy food. You do not need to be a PRISM participant to access this program. Their 2019 distributions will take place HERE at Elim Church (3978 W Broadway Ave. in Robbinsdale).  The remaining 2019 distribution days are August 6th, August 20th, September 3rd, September 17th, October 1st (Tuesdays) from 10am-12pm.
